EXHIBITS AT CROSSLAND GALLERY
500 West Paisano at Durango
Catherine “Kitty” Kistenmacher Exhibit
“Semi-Abstract Acrylics”, an exhibition of paintings by Catherine B.
Kistenmacher, will open at the El Paso Art Association’s Crossland
Gallery on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. The show, which will
contain approximately 50 paintings, will be a retrospective of the
artist’s work over the past 20 years.
Four of the paintings will be transparent watercolors, the medium in
which Kistenmacher worked before switching to acrylic and collage in
1991. The major part of the exhibit will feature paintings influenced by
acrylic techniques taught by Colorado artist Louise Cadillac and Texas
artist Jerry Seagle, who also incorporates collage into his acrylic
paintings.
Kistenmacher is an award winning artist and presently serves on the
Board of Directors of the El Paso Art Association, the Rio Bravo
Watercolorists and the International Association for the Visual Arts.
A cordial invitation to her opening is being extended to members of the
El Paso Art Association and art patrons of the El Paso community.
