PASTEL SOCIETY MEETING The Pastel Society of El Paso will hold their
November meeting on Thursday, November 10, at 1:00 pm at the
International Museum of Art, 1211 Montana. The program will be “Vive la
Difference.” Florence Schwein, Osher Lifelong Learning Faculty, UTEP,
and A. Stein, award-winning regional artist, invite you to a discussion
on the work of two supremely talented and interconnected couples in the
world of art: Edgar Degas and Mary Cassatt; and Georgia O’Keeffe and
Arthur Dove. The Pastel Society is open to the public and anyone

Plein Air Painters’ Show
The award winners of the Plein Air Painters of El Paso
show at Sunland Art Gallery were announced at the opening on October 7.
The show was judged by Michael Thornton, an instructor at El Paso
Community College. The winners are: First Place Krystyna
Robbins—”Morning Light” Second Place Ann Mitchell—”Distant
Mountains” Third Place Candy Mayer—”Asarco & R.R. Bridge”
Honorable Mentions: Bob Adams—”Racetrack Workhorse” Louise
Bagg—”Happiness & Sunshine” The show runs the month of October.
The next show at Sunland Art Gallery will be the “El Paso Scenes Show,”
sponsored by Randy Limbird, editor of the El Paso Scene. For more
